METHODS OF OPTIMIZATION OF COSTS OF ENTERPRISES MAKING INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION ON THE EXAMPLE OF PE "VMV - TRANS"
Abstract
The methods of cost optimization of enterprises that carry out international freight transport in modern market conditions hava been described in the article. The purpose of the research, its main tasks and the urgency of the problem is established, which is a significant need to optimize both the structure of costs of domestic enterprises in general, and its individual elements. The composition of internal and external factors of the operating environment that influences the cost optimization on the example of the private enterprise "VMV - TRANS" is investigated. The cost structure of domestic companies engaged in transportation of goods by means of motor transport is briefly analyzed. Also, recent sources and publications related to cost optimization methods have been analyzed. It should be noted that both well-known and innovative methods have been included in the list of optimization methods under study. A number of cost optimization methods such as lean thinking (meaning "lean manufacturing"), "costing", "kaisen - costing", Life Cycle Cost, EVA, and ABC are analyzed in detail. The theoretical features of each of the methods and the specifics of their implementation in the activity of enterprises are described, in particular, by the example of the above entity. Advantages and disadvantages of implementation of the above-mentioned methods are indicated, as well as their comparative analysis of effectiveness. A number of measures have been identified to improve costs for international freight forwarding companies and several methods have been identified that are specific to the enterprise under study. Recommendations on the effective implementation of each of the methods have been formed in order to increase the effectiveness of their influence on the optimization processes of the firm. This process was accompanied by the specificity of international freight transportations of goods, as certain aspects of the industry are often not controlled, which leads to the impossibility of forecasting and adjusting certain costs. In the end, on this basis the approach of choosing a successful method for optimization of the costs of the enterprises which are engaged in the international freight transportation is formed.
