DEVELOPMENT OF THEMETHOD OF DETERMINATION THE COMPETITIVENESS OF PASSENGER TRANSPORT SERVICES

Abstract

In the work the analysis of existing assessing methods of the passenger transportation services competitiveness in the conditions of large cities has been analyzed, the scope of application and the drawbacks of these methods have been identified. The method of estimation of competitiveness is proposed, which is based on the use of publicly available information on technological, operational and economic performance of passenger carriers on city routes. Unlike existing techniques, the proposed methodology for assessing competitiveness is based on quantitative performance of rolling stock on routes, which reduces the impact of subjective ratings given by users. The advantage of the proposed methodology is that the baseline data for assessing competitiveness is publicly available information, which greatly simplifies its use both by carriers and the general public. It is proved that the use of the proposed method allows to take into account the most important from the point of view of consumers indicators of the quality of transport services and to more clearly define the steps that the carrier must take to improve his competitive position.
